Fvncy Food Friday

Kick off the year with a bang and treat yourself to these babies! Creme puffs dipped in melted Nutella chocolate and sprinkled with Bacon bits. Don't knock it till you've tried it! This was one of the simplest things I've come up with - purchased a box of creme puffs, a jar of Nutella, and oops some microwavable Bacon. Thawed the puffs, melted the Nutella, dipped them, microwaved the bacon, and sprinkled it on top. Voila! I'll probably repeat this again, but actually make the creme puffs, fill them with a chocolate mousse and bacon, and drizzle on salted caramel. I'm a sucker for the sweet & salty combos.

Around the Corner

2011 is right around the corner and I'm doing everything in my power to avoid it. Not to say that I want to re-live 2010, but I can only expect more of the same. You know what else is around the corner? A liquor store! Hello sknurd nights (yes that is drunks spelled backwards and yes I do pronounce it snerd).

You ain't nothing but a hood rat, hood rat, hoochie momma! Random I know, but that's me lately. Feeling like a skanky school girl in this get up. Hm does that mean I miss school? Doubt it. The DIY chain garter requires only a bunch of chains and pliers; open the links and close them where desired.

Lost & Found

If you follow my tweets or maybe even follow the Fvncy facebook page, you may have seen my requests for clothes donations. I'm only kidding if you don't think I'm serious. I get bored with my own clothes. I know I've got plenty of things to wear, but I'm allowed to whine and gripe about feeling like I don't and hating how everything looks on. I'm a girl. But that's why I love those moments when you've rediscovered a buried and forgotten treasure in your closet; what was once lost is now found!

I decided to dig up old stuff in my closet and prayed that there was something I could re-work. I even went 'shopping' or as my mother insists 'snooping' in her closet as well as my brothers'. JUST MY LUCK! This hooded fur vest - it was actually an Old Navy jacket that I'd gotten tired of and let my mom have. I found it, redeemed it mine again (which by the way my mom was not thrilled about at all), and decided it looked way cooler flipped inside out and without sleeves!

Fvncy Food Friday

I know Thanksgiving was in November, but I mean it's the holidays so bring on all the birds and festive dishes. The holidays should be about indulging in food, drinks, and spending time with the ones you love. The meal below consisted of stuffed quails, roasted guinea fowl, and not pictured: risotto and apple cranberry spinach salad.

 

The stuffed quails are like a mini Thanksgiving meal. Mini things are always fun to eat and I feel less guilty when I eat a bunch of em.

Little Fille

This is my dvrling friend Mari of Little Fille. She is the sweetest gal you'll ever meet and always there to listen to a gal like me whine. I should also mention she is a crazy work horse, which I respect and admire. I mean I'm surprised that she ever gets sleep with the kind of work schedule she has, but I suppose that's part of being a young entrepreneur! I'm proud of you Mari! And I hope you don't hate me for this drawing - I thought about making it more anime like Sailor Moon and adding some "Blingee" ♥

The lovely sisters Keyondra and Kim Lockett of The Red Glasses Sisters sent over these Lola sunglasses for me to review. I feel like I took some kind of acid trip and time traveled with these babies on. They've got big, sultry, slightly cat eye shaped lenses, with a light brown frame, and a rosey brown ombre tint. Hey you all know I'm kind of obsessed with anything and everything ombre. I even think I could maybe get away with saying I'm Nicole Richie or perhaps a MKA triplet.

Not going to lie I was a little surprised by the $25 price tag, but they are a decent pair of sunglasses that come with a pouch cover (which I believe also doubles as a cleaning cloth) and a durable hard carrying case. With all that considered I'd say it's definitely worth the cost. I'm currently eying the Gwendolyn and the Terry in tortoise (Run DMC inspired?). RGS also carries shades for guys and a unisex line. OH, and they also have some killer looking shoulder pads which I wouldn't mind owning.

You'd think I'd be happier since I got this Alexander Wang sweater as my Christmas gift from my brother Michael and his boyfriend Vinnie. Rah, I'm a motha fcuking monster.

Fvncy Food Friday

I saw a super cute recipe for Totoro creme puffs over at my new favorite blog for super kawaii food, AnnaTheRed's Bento Factory. Had to try it without any help from the boyfriend chef, but of course assistance from my brother was expected. It could have used a touch more sugar for the custard filling and we replaced Vanilla essence with lemon zest.

Totoro, Mickey, and we've dubbed that last one "Blooper - aww you guys made me ink - Squidy."
